Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #125043
Greetings, and welcome to Hope for Healthy Families Counseling Center. I am Theo Parfet, a Counsler. I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. What this means to you is that I want to listen to you, and I want to hear from you; and most of all, I want you to feel heard. I intend to help you feel heard. I want to create a safe place for you, so that if you want to, you can talk about whatever bothers you. I’ll bring my skill of listening and hearing. I’ll also be honest with you—and I expect you to be honest with me. Frankly, I don’t think I can help you much unless I am honest. (Please excuse the humor, but it helps in therapy.) The main thing is that when we talk, I’ll be listening. And I’ll be doing my very best to help you with whatever you ask for.
Where you have goals for your future, I want to help you achieve them. If you do not have goals, I hope to help you find some. I see it as my job to help you develop good and optimistic goals for yourself. I also want to help you with the problems and challenges that are in your way to a successful future. My aim is to assist you and encourage you, and hopefully to inspire you in your thoughts about your future. Part of my job is to help you find ways to see your strengths and defeat your self-doubt. Where you lack hope, I hope to help you gradually replace self-doubt and uncertainty with hope.
I believe that with caring and love and good listening skills, children, families, couples, and individuals can all have a healthy connection and communication. This will foster an environment where they can build the skills to work together, or within themselves, to empower common goals as well as individual ones. I want to help you become the best person you can become. I believe you can become that person, and I will be here to help you.
