Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee
Hello, my name is Rory (She, Her) and I am already proud of you! Starting therapy for the first time, or changing to a new clinician can be scary. You have now taken the first step! I believe that therapy should be client centered. My sessions are not one-size-fits-all, my job is to build the session that works best for YOU.
Some of my favorite modalities include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT, connecting your thinking and your actions)
- Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT, learning acceptance, mindfulness and personal values)
- Internal Family Systems (working with the various “parts” of yourself)
- Narrative Therapy (building and rewriting your story)
I enjoy working with: anxiety, childhood trauma, as well as LGBTQIA+ issues, to name just a few. I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to make my sessions a safe and accepting place for everyone.
I have been working in mental health since 2024. Currently, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee working on my masters degree at Touro University. I am supervised by Pat Vargas, LMFT# 111468. In my free time I am a historical seamstress; I enjoy sewing ballgowns from the 1800s. I also enjoy history, musical theatre, hiking and traveling. I have a goal of traveling to all 50 states…I have 18 left!
