    Kristi Mitchell

Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, APCC # 11814

My name is Kristi, and I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counseling at Hope for Healthy Families under the supervision of Dr. R. Isabel K’Burg, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT #86991 and Patricia Vargas, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT #111468.

Investing in your well-being is one of the most important things you can do.  I can provide you with a safe space where the therapy is warm and filled with compassion and occasionally laughter.  I would love the opportunity to collaborate with you and understand what is most important to you in your life.  I want to listen so you feel not only heard but, more importantly, feel understood.  If you have experienced trauma and feel stuck, maybe a therapeutic journey would help you discover your purpose?  Everyone has unique strengths, and I want to help you remember and discover those strengths and empower you to make the changes you desire.

I love working with adults and teens on various challenges such as self-esteem, trauma, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Addiction, and Partner Betrayal.  I have a Master’s Degree in Business with an emphasis in Leadership and a Masters in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

I have been trained in Brainspotting and would love to incorporate this into your healing journey.    I have personally experienced and witnessed my clients experiencing the most profound healing with Brainspotting.

I am also trained in helping partners heal from betrayal.  I am currently a Candidate to become an Associate Partner Trauma Therapist with IITAP, the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals.

I will use an integrative approach to your treatment needs which may include:  Brainspotting, Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

When I am not doing my dream job, I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, hiking, traveling, spending time at the beach (my favorite), and walking my dogs.
